I'd appreciate that.  I got last month's credit card statement, it made my checkbook cry.  Thanks for the DVD.  I appologize for not picking it up in person; I've been sticking close to home because of said addiction.

FYI....

Will be bringing a canopy with just in case the sun is hot.  Granted it's not the most ideal one, but will work.

Will also bring some bottled water with me to the track.  So, if anyone has a cooler with a little room, let me know so we can chill the water down a bit.

Come on Mr. madscout, RA is a fuckin' blast!!!

Of course, I was carrying 25-30 mph less top end into corners 1, 5 and 12, so I'm sure our experiences of the track were slightly different. But hell, the sv was giving everything it had.

Everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE should do a trackday at RA with STT! If you're freaked out by the speeds on the long straights, or anything else about the track, I'm sure they'll find a novice group that will be accommodate you.
And if you're beyond the whole novice thing, RA is just a beautiful track! So you can't go wrong.

Alan and Byron may have different takes on the novice deal, but personally, the group I was assigned to was great.
After the first 2 sessions of ontrack exercises, my instructor sensed that we just wanted to ride. So he dumped the instruction program and we just went out and rode. I was in a group with 2 R6's, a Triumph 675 and the instructor was on a RC 51, so needless to say they pulled away from me on every straight. I pretty much had to ride as hard as I could to keep in touch with them and every once in a while the instructor would have mercy on my sorry ass and would kick it down a notch until I caught them back up. Pretty much went that way the rest of the day. I definitely got my $$ worth or more.

I'm sure that everyone that was there would agree, it was a great day!

Other than that unfortunate T1 thing that is.

I've got no regrets riding in the novice group.  I'll be way more comfortable riding there with the intermediates next year.  Incredible track, great instructor, great weather considering the forcast.  If I can't afford leathers by the next track day I'm going to kill a cow or cut the crotch out of the revs.

I know you guys swear by Gold Bond in the leathers, but I didn't realize you put it on your bikes too. Scout, do Kawi's suffer from monkey butt more than other bikes?

I am fine.  for those slower readers of the group, i did indeed crash in my last session in turn one @ road america.  I did, nor the bike suffered any injuries.  bit of a bruised ego.  bike and i got covered with dust(bike gained about 2lbs of gravel).  please use loctite if you work on your bike yourself.  I know that i used it, but it failed.  If you would like me to tell you about it, ask in person.  Probably won't be riding this weekend being i need to replace some missing brake pads........

p.s. thanks for the use of your warmers tommy.  i missed you.  9manchu wasn't nearly as adventerous...
