Rock Falls-9/14

The bike drag day at Rock Falls Raceway is Sunday, September 14th.  We'll be running things a bit differently this year since there's a lot going on that weekend, namely, the air show in Eau Claire and the GP in Inidanapolis.

I apologize for not knowing the exact costs, but PM me if you attended the event as a rider or a spectator.  If you're a paid club member, you'll get $10 back if you raced, $5 back if you spectated.

Just another benefit of membership.

If loud pipes save lives, imagine what learning to ride could do.

Re: Rock Falls-9/14

Just wanted to confirm...is there a club ride on Sunday as well or should I just make alternate riding plans? Because riding the freaky tiki down a straight 1/4 mile just sounds too boring to me...

And I dont think that a 20 tooth sprocket would get you very good times! :-)

Re: Rock Falls-9/14

it was bike day here at rock falls raceway, so me and my buddies loaded the bikes up and went racing.

I have never been into going to the drag strip but i figured it would be a good time. It most definetly was too...

Hell, i was even the 46th person to enter too so they didnt even need to write a different number on my bike hahaha

I was running consistant 10.6's all day @143-147mph with 1.9 60'

I was haveing a hell of alot of trouble keeping my front end down thru the first couple gears...that was the reasoning for my crappy 60's. I had my suspension setup as best as i could for the strip too. I guess i need to strap the front and stretch it out a bit for the strip next time. should be well into the 9's then (it seemed like all the bikes running in the 9's where getting the same mph as me at the end of the track)

And because of that, i think if i can keep that front down Id be alot faster as most the bikes in my class where hitting 135mph

I had a few good races too, ended up 3rd in my class (not too bad for my first time at the strip ) one of them i ran a 10.612 @143.81mph and the 08 cbr1000rr i was racing got 10.615 @136.71mph i had a better reaction time too

that was the closest race of the day i might add

Oh, i had alot of consistant .06-.15 reaction times too and one -.008 which ended my day

Re: Rock Falls-9/14

thanks guys...we definetly need to get more people to show up. there was at least 60 bikes there but most where from outta town. since its a local track, more locals should show up i think.

definetly a blast and i wish they would have a bike only day more than once a year some 3-4 times would be nice big_smile

I think alot of people get intimidated by the track, the first time you go down the strip you are hooked...grinin ear to ear

try it, you just might like it big_smile

:READ WITH ARROGANCE:  I didn't think Yamaha's 600's were able to run 10.25 but R1's could only run 10.6.  Something is  broken!    (sorry...just felt like starting shit)
