Subdued ride tomorrow, 8/25

Anyone interested in a ride tomorrow late morning/early afternoon?  I'll be 2-up so my pace will be a bit slower than normal.  Post up if interested.

Define "a bit slower than normal."  I gotta go on the hunt for a frickin' dress sometime tomorrow. Let me know details...I'm hoping to make the girly chore quick as possible; what a perfect excuse.

No, AaAaAaAaAaron, you're girlfriend will be on the back.  Slower than normal means speed limit-ish on the straights and slighly slower than normal through the turns due to Aaron's girlfriend touching my naughty places mid-corner.

I was thinking of leaving around 11 soooooo, meet at the Holiday station across from kwik trip and rcu on golf rd around 10:45.  If ya wanna go and this doesn't work, holler.  I'm flexible...... just ask Aaron's girlfriend.

This sounds like a good idea if the g/f will agree to go. I gotta do some quick helmet shopping for her though.

I think we'll be in Arcadia around 1:00-ish if you are headed that way...
I'm not leading, but I suspect we'll eat at Wheelers.

Re: Subdued ride tomorrow, 8/25

Gentlemen (and ladies) of today's ride. Thank you again for giving me the opportunity to ride with you. I already had been told in the past, many times, that the group will wait for stragglers, and I was so wrapped up in my concern in not wanting to make you all wait, that it was tough to enjoy the ride and/or stay within my comfortable limits.   On the way back, I realized somewhere along that AWESOME stretch of SS that it's not the keeping up, it's the ride. And as long as you are good-natured (which, just about all of you seem to be) about waiting for me to catch up, I found that I enjoyed the ride back so much more....even if it turned out to be just me for a while there. smile

I don't have to tell you all the effect that riding behind faster riders has on my improvement as a motorcyclist (well, as long as you're in sight smile). I feel like I've advanced another little bit after today's ride, and I'm all AMPED up! Dress shopping here I go! Do you think black satin will clash with my blue flame riding boots?

Thanks a million times over, I'm most grateful. You. Fuckin. Rock.

smile

P.S. Turd, if you ever (god forbid) have to kneel over me as an EMT, don't use your real name. Use Turd. wink

Re: Subdued ride tomorrow, 8/25

Dress purchased! I'm in, I'm out, I spent a hundred. I left some dead bugs on a wedding dress wink

In fact, it was so cheap, I think I may wear it on a ride!  Oh hey, is there a Sportbike Formal? lol

Re: Subdued ride tomorrow, 8/25

That was a nice ride! Kari said she had fun and thats what I was hoping would happen. She wasn't too pleased to hear I had scraped a boot in a right hander. That, I told her, is why I am off to install my new suspension stuff! (Turd, sorry you won't get to ride the wallowing pig and see how it tries to buck you off in the corners, but this can wait no longer)

I am glad you had fun Denise (Megadeth) . If we do more two up stuff, I hope you'll come with.

First real day of sunshine in a week, what a great day to ride.

Re: Subdued ride tomorrow, 8/25

I wish I could have rode with your guys, but my son and I had to do our range test for hunter's safety. I have some food for thought (keeping with Arrons food theme) maybe the club should have scheduled couple's/ newbie rides. It could accomplish a couple of things. One, any excuse to ride is a good one! Two,it might be easier to talk you spouse and/or girlfriend into that new bike you want if she can see how much fun they are. Three, it would give ladies a chance to ride there own bike ( which means you may have to buy a second one, instead of the new one). Fourth, newbies would have a chance to get to know how we ride without intimidating them with a Sunday ride. The ride could be once or twice a month. It could be on a Sunday, but a Saturday afternoon would work. Maybe even a evening ride during the week. You could ride to any one of the little bar and grills in the area or end up a some ones place for a grill out or bonfire. This would also help out the food critic. Well, just food for thought (I have to quit reading Arron's posts)

My life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather I will skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming...... WOW....WHAT A RIDE!                                                                            "Got Amsoil"

This is a damn good idea. I also believe track days are great for beginners too.

Re: Subdued ride tomorrow, 8/25

+1 to that.  I know the gf and I enjoyed the slightly more relaxed nature of the ride on Saturday.  I encourage people to post up when they want to ride.  Riding alone is ok once in a while, but I know I prefer to ride with at least one other person.  Hopefully your idea catches on.

Re: Subdued ride tomorrow, 8/25

I will ride any day, any time, anywhere. Next time there's a subdued ride I'll take my girl along with as well.

Unless it's raining. Or I'm hung over. Or if it's so far a hotel stay is required and it doesn't have internet.

I'm sure some of you saw the thread about our ride sunday over at MNSBR. It was a very sad day in the alphabets for us : (
