road america interest

Would anybody be interested in doing a trackday @ R.A.  this summer?  I haven't been there and would love to give it a whirl.  I can go whenever.

sportbiketracktime has:
June 9 (ohlins tracklab) $195
July 7 & 8  1 day $185, 2 day $355

nesba has:

June 11, 12  $185 per day
July 1, 2  $185 per day
these prices do not include the $75 nesba fee.

I would like to do more than one trackday this year.  I am open to other suggestions too.  Like if someone would want to trailer to Barber or VIR or Mid-Ohio or something.  I just need 2 weeks notice and i can make it happen.

just throwing it out there.

I am interested, Mr. Scout. I'll let you know as soon as I can. I will probably have a borrowed trailer so I can make my own way there.

Re: road america interest

NESBA is a decent org., but sucks that you have to pay that yearly fee.  I've done 2 NESBA events at RA and had a good time.

Maybe think about the other group.  Very good rate for the two day affair.

Just my two pennies.

Re: road america interest

I agree and it's nothing against NESBA, but it wouldn't make sense for a single track day. Maybe next year I'll join right out of the gate and do a few track days.

Re: road america interest

I think I'm going to speak with the wife and see if I can get to the RA event.  I love that track!  Great for a 1000.  Plus since I know it, I may finally scuff up those pucks that I have on the carousel corner!!!

I also kind of know where the hotels are and could call for rooms.

Will keep u guys informed if I go.

Re: road america interest

Just went to the Sportbiketracktime website.  $35 membership fee.  Still better than NESBA fee.

Re: road america interest

I too am considering doing the Monday July 7 date at RA with SST.
Heard about all the "fun" everyone had there last year with PTT and felt I missed out!

But seriously, I've always wanted to ride RA and this seems like the time to do it.

If anyone is interested in camping I know of a good county campground about 5 minutes north of Elkhart Lake and about 15-20 minutes from the track. They have an overflow tent camping area thats never totally full, so availability shouldn't be a problem. Plus there's a decent bar and restaurant right next to the park.

Did any of you guys commit/sign up for anything? Or was this just conversation from your ladies luncheon?

Re: road america interest

Understood. I'm just looking to survive and enjoy my first. Will take RA on the 7th under serious consideration post 6/16. Oh, and this bitch is gettin' a room if I go to RA. If I camp, I don't sleep.

I'm trying to find some extra cash.  I really want to go bad, but don't want to financially ruin the family.  LOL

Re: road america interest

Was the beginner session the only one available?  I've seen you ride and I know how STT runs their events.  You won't be happy playing follow the leader at 70 mph.

Just my $.02.
