Re: road america interest

I'm signed up for Monday in Intermediate.  Been to the track twice, so took Champs advice and kicked it up a notch.  BAM!!!

Can't wait!!!

Madscout, good choice to only do one day.  Track may be long with decent times for "rest" on straights, but two days in a row can be a killer.  Last year when I went, my friend from La Crosse had a bad wreck on the in 11 (bend after the carousel).  Tore himself up bad.  This was on the second day of riding.  He also had been doing filming of riders, so he was on the track quite a bit.

Re: road america interest

So, only 2 of us going???  Or are there going to be other "hooked" riders going now?  wink

Also, just a little something else....  Found out that Intermediate requires a spine protector.  Checked out NewEnough.com and found a nice Teknic for $40!!!   Might not be as nice as the $140 models, but will serve it's purpose.  Sorry for the plug!   lol

You'd think it would be a good thing but the negotiations include sex.

Good call.  Technically, STT says you MUST sign up for novice with no prior track experience.....just like Trackaddix required you to take their school of speed or whatever it was called if it was your first time on a track.  STT does not charge more like Trackaddix did, but STT controls the pace in the novice group.  Ask Kramer exactly what they did as he ran novice at RA with STT two years ago.

Re: road america interest

I think since the club trackday kind of fizzled this year for a number of reasons, we'll open up the $10 back to any paid member for the first track day you do this year.  This means that any paid member besides Mx, practice, 9man, madscout, and xb12 will get $10 from the club if they do a track day.  Did I mention you have to be a paid member, not just a member of this site?

To the five of you who did run at BIR on Monday, I have 4, crisp, $10 bills.  One for each of you.  Madscout, you'll get 3, $3 bills and a $1 bill.

Re: road america interest

Here is the scoop I was told as we did last year the Comfort INN in Fond Du Lac gave me a rate of $45.00 for  2 beds and 2 Adults.  I know most of you said you might be camping so I just thought I would throw this out there since some had asked.  I will need to help check you in for that rate but thats the scoop, and I will be staying for sake of having my 2yr old along.  See ya all there!

Re: road america interest

You boys have a great time. 9man, we'll start a fund-raiser for your new addiction while you're gone. I'm calling it the "Feed the Homeless Children of Ethernopia" with fine print "(so 9man can do Track Day 12x a year)."

Btw, Scout's got your Vanity DVD. smile

Re: road america interest

For all of those going to RA...

1.  I have a decent size awning I could bring for shade.  It does have 4 sides that zip in the middle and tie off.  Want it there, or not?
2.  Caravan over from the hotel?
3.  Where does everyone like to pit?

It was nice to have a pit right next to the fence on the track.  Can watch them coming down the straight, got electrical outlets, and easy to get onto the track and get to tech.

Can't wait!!!
