Laguna Seca--*****PRIZES UPDATE*****

The annual Laguna Seca ride and party is less than a month away.  It should be a blast again this year.

Re: Laguna Seca--*****PRIZES UPDATE*****

Our gracious host and owner of Crossroads, Cory Ruppelt, has lined up a band called Double Shot.  They'll start when the prizes have all been given away, so probably around 8:00.

This is the rough timeline of events:  11:00-12:00  Sign Up
                                                     12:00            Kickstand Up
                                                     12:00-3:00    Ride--ending at Crossroads
3:00-5:30      Exchange vehicles(if you want), check into hotel, clean up, volleyball....
5:30-8:00      Eat, drink and give away prizes
8:00-???        Double Shot plays and we party

Cory also spoke to the owner of the attached motel, the Osseo Inn.  Rooms will cost $50 this year with two people per room.  Still very inexpensive especially when you consider the convenience.  To reserve a room, simply call the Osseo Inn at 715-597-3175 and mention the Laguna Seca ride to get the discounted pricing.

See you in 23 days.

I would think not.  I don't remember how it was worked last year, but I say if you want to pay, you can play.

Unfortunately i will be out of town again this year during the Laguna ride..... being a active member in good standing , would it be ok to pay for the event just to get my name in for the drawing of the prizes ?

Let's hear from the masses.  In years past, attendance was required to be eligible for prizes.

Can't imagine why mileageguy's sawbuck wouldn't be any good. More beer for me.

Can I still look at your zipper?

Re: Laguna Seca--*****PRIZES UPDATE*****

You'd likely have to designate a representative...        that's the easy part.
A lot of the prizes are choices from the table, so you know you're gonna end up with some strange shit!

Re: Laguna Seca--*****PRIZES UPDATE*****

My guess is, and don't quote me on this, that there will be stuff AND things.

Seriously, I have no idea.  All of the dealers are getting things together, as usual, to be picked up the week before Laguna.

Now that I think about it, the last time I was in Sport Rider I asked Scott how many Arai helmets they were giving away this year and he said 10....at least.  Sounds like a verbal contract to me Scotty.  Just kidding, 5 will do.

For those that aren't picking up on teh interwebz sarcasm, Scott did say this, but was obviously joking.

I'll post up any prizes I know about as soon as I know about them.

Re: Laguna Seca--*****PRIZES UPDATE*****

hahaha...i have an addiction to getting new stuff and things...this year im gonna take it easy i think (no promises) just cause i dont think most of the stuff being given away will be of any use to me anymore.  I pretty much have everything except aftermarket wheels and a few other little minor do dads, im gonna leave the tires alone this year too...Unless they are something super sticky, then im in full bore lol

oh, and i may get interested in some of the odds and ends crap tho i.e. hats, helmet for girl friend, anudder pair of gloves, banners etc...

hopefully there will be an AGV Gothic Rossi Replica helmet in a size large and a Dianese Rossi 1Piece suit with matchin gloves and boots...Id drop a couple paychecks in that bin big_smile

Re: Laguna Seca--*****PRIZES UPDATE*****

The BIG EVENT is only a week away and the prizes have started rolling in.  So far, we've received donations from Sport Rider and from the world's best Parts Unlimited rep., Dave Wappler.  Zachos, Sport Motors and Airtec donations will be picked up this coming week.  It sounds like Dawn from GTC in Whitehall will be attending on Saturday as well.

Super Dave was able to wrangle a gift worth $550!! (teasers are a hoot!)

Sport Rider kicked in a 180/55 Pirelli Diablo along with a couple cycle covers and more stickers, hats, t-shirts, banners and key chains than I could count.  I haven't made it to the bottom of the monstrous box so who knows what else might be hiding down there.  Scott told me to stop back sometime this week when customers weren't stacked up 5 deep and he'd have more swag for us.  Awesome!!

The next time you're in one of the local shops, let them know you appreciate their support of the club.

Stay tuned for more updates and we'll see everyone on the 9th.

Re: Laguna Seca--*****PRIZES UPDATE*****

Another quick prize update.  Sport Rider has thrown in some additional prizes including an HJC helmet, a couple of helmet bags and lots more t-shirts and hats.  Sport Motors kicked in some nice Buell backpacks and t-shirts.

I hope to pick up the last of the prizes from Zachos tomorrow.

See everyone on Saturday.
