Well, I haven't heard of anything falling off Turd's bike. I think something fell off Champ's bike at least twice this past season? big_smile

Though, when I'm riding behind you Turd, I tend to become fixated on your pipe.

Do I think I'm better than everyone? Only the ones I'm better than.

Re: The money

2. Do we want it? I certainly can't speak for everyone but if it takes money to run the club in this positive way, then yes.
"Other clubs operate on no membership and do just fine.-xD675x"

I skimmed over the MNSBR site and found this:

"NO Money is needed up front. We are asking for people to sign up and let us know what kind of interst there is in getting hats so we can place one LARGE order. Eco and I are paying for all of it up front and then will be selling them all summer long. We are going to try and take them to events all summer long so people will have a chance to buy them any time they want.
KKLRacing will have them every CRA race weekend as well. Look for her at the track she will be selling CRA and MNSBR gear this year.

All proceeds are going to a end of the year MNSBR picnic and group ride like we did last year"

Sounds kind of like how the CVSBC started out. I couldn't find anything about them kicking in any money to thier mambers for track days/events. xD675x sounds like he knows more about it than I do so he can post up here about how clubs that charge no membership can offer that. I'm certainly willing to learn. Of course I've only looked at MNSBR because thats the only other local orginized club I know of. I'm sure there are others.

I think http://www.wisconsinsportbikes.net/ is the big one here in Wis. but I dont think they have dues either because of their size like MNSBR.com

Re: The money

Not to burst any bubbles.... this is Milageguys take on the subject.

The powers that be have kept the $25 dollar (which I agree with) membership fee in place. The club has been very, very accommodating on allowing people that are not members to even participate in  the future of the club. This is unheard of anywhere with any other group.

Examples...  if you live in the county can you demand the city to change things. no ...... If you do not belong to girl scouts can you change their policies. no ........ if you don't  have a cell phone can really complain about coverage. no. The list is endless.

If you want to change any of these ........... become a member  or find a new soap box to stand on where you are a member, consumer or land owner. The club could easily not have a open ear or even not allow any non member to even not interact with out being a member.

I would like the club to be 60 dedicated riders.... but I understand ..... not every one has the same twisted motorcycle addiction as i do... and actually i am very glad of that. On the other hand, i wish that when i would like another person to ride with, someone would always wanted to go.

If i want to hear a lot of negative senseless BS i will listen to talk radio.... any of the stations.

Done.

Re: The money

Let's all take a step back and realize we are all just people who like riding motorcycles.

Years ago a club was formed and in the past 5-10 years, it's really expanded.  The addition of the website has helped us communicate, usually constructively, and many good things have come from this.  First, and foremost, motorycle riding.

The idea of the club renting a track was raised a few years ago.  I don't know that this is feasible, but it is a big part of the reason the club has horded, for a lack of a better term, funds over the past year or so.  This discussion, about the money, is exactly what we need to get some ideas on the table.  It's our club.  All of us.  And our money.  All of ours.  Let's use it to have some fun.

The club has become very track-oriented which I love, but also alienates a large group of riders.  Personally, I enjoy riding with the folks I ride with.  If more riders join.  Great.  If stunters want to join and put on a show, the club would certainly be behind this.

Criticize the ideas.  The decisions.  I have no problem with that.  As a matter of fact, I encourage that.  However, please do it for a purpose other than busting my, or someone else's, balls.  Do it to bring about change or enlightenment.  Please.

If loud pipes save lives, imagine what learning to ride could do.

Re: The money

Ok...For Laguna
I vote:
Badass ride (88 and the likes) and then the afterride party at Chubbies.  Maybe we could recruit some women riders there.

I'm with Champ...stop taking this personal and make it constructive.  IT IS SUPPOSE TO BE FUN

Re: The money

Sorry for voicing my (Junior member) opinion but WTF!!  :eh: Seriously, I really enjoyed my first year with the club and I have no problem with the piddly $25 fee. I've had to pay for everything that I've ever had and if that's taught me anything that is that nothing is free! And personally its the best money I've ever spent. I know I don't hang at a lot of the events but when I do I have a great time and I really appreciate all the advice and commeradery that comes with knowing all you veterans and noobs alike. I personally don't care what you do with the money I know that I got more then my $25 dollars worth last year and I'm sure I will again this year. If you officers or elected officials can do something with the money that we can all benefit from great!

All I can say (no offence to anyone) if you don't feel you get your moneys worth from being a member then don't. Nobody twisted my arm to join and I'm sure there not twisting yours. my .02

So I want to say thanks to all that have helped me out and all the advice you have given and I look forward to another great riding season with you all.:D

Well thats if the riding season ever gets here.:(
