WI equipment laws

Brother and I were having a conversation the other day regarding a recent traffic stop while on a motorcycle. I haven't been pulled over yet, but I'm kinda pissed off at how ignorant cops are of statutes regarding equipment. I thought a police officer's job was to "uphold the law." I find it hard to understand how it's possible to do that when you don't have your shit straight when you pull someone over.

I've been wandering around on the web trying to collect knowledge so if I do ever get pulled over and the DB tries to tell me I have to have two mirrors and they have to be stock, or I'm not allowed to listen to my mp3 player, I can tell the donut-suckin spaz to do some homework so next time he won't look like such an ass. It'll save him a lot of hot air and save me from having to listen to the "I got picked on in school and 20 years later I'm gonna take it out on you" issues.

You dudes and your visible license plate issues seem to be on your own...I can't find anything on angle/distance requirements. I read on a forum (but can't verify as fact) that in WI the license plate "must be mounted in plain sight and horizontal."

Funny that there doesn't seem to be full disclosure anywhere easibly accessible regarding laws...it's like they WANT to make money off us or something...

Keep in mind this stuff may be old. If anyone tracks down more up-to-date info, please post it up.
