Re: Sunday June 24th Ride

Personally, I want it to be clear that on my small "incident" I was only verifying the height of the corn crop in preparation for the upcoming July 4th holiday. After checking, I can safely say that particular field should have no problem reaching the proper "knee high" status by the 4th. I will keep you posted when and if I check other fields in the area.

P.S. Jeff it was a great route. Nice to take some roads we don't always ride.

Re: Sunday June 24th Ride

I would also like to confirm that my "off" was indeed a display of how to save an improper downshift. All planned of course. Notes should be taken.

Re: Sunday June 24th Ride

On the "cover your asz" lines... my bike was upset with jeffs bike and lunged towards it, creating a apparent gravity mishap... it wanted to take a short nap.

Ride was fun as always.. thanks

Re: Sunday June 24th Ride

You pros realize you make it fairly difficult for a newbie to want to ride with you what with all this here ditching, off-road malarkey.

Just goes to show even some of the "better" riders can have brain farts sometimes. Every time I fuck up, I try to process that to help me be less stupid in the future.

I believe the drainage ditch off T4 is NOT a proper distance. While watching a CRA thing once, I saw a young man ride off the track there and he gracefully managed to stay on it and in control, making me think (he probably thought as well) that he would come to a complete and safe stop...till his front tire dropped into a 2 foot deep trench. THEN, there was damage.  Um, and I laughed a little (read: A LOT) because of the sheer hilarity. To myself, of course. Then I asked if he was okay.

So, is the trench still there? And if so, should you just lay it down as soon as you get to the green so other bystanders are spared the agony of laughter?

Also, did you go big like Skrawny (sounds like an oxymoron...big/skrawny)?

So, did you go down on 4?

Re: Sunday June 24th Ride

I also enjoyed Sunday's ride. I hope I can get to more rides and get to know everyone a little better. For those heading to track day, have a good one and it will be fun hearing about it when you get back(or what happpens on track day, didn't happen!!!!) Later.

My life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather I will skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming...... WOW....WHAT A RIDE!                                                                            "Got Amsoil"
