Tires

Hey. At 9200 miles, I've decided it's time to change out my tires.

The local shop here has two sets in stock in my size:
Dunlop Roadsmart
Metzler M3

After reading random reviews on the internets, I'm leaning towards the Metzlers. I've never had a tire that worked better than my Rosso's, but I've never tried a M3 either.

Anyone use either of those and have any opinion?

Re: Tires

I have the Metzler M3's on my bike for the first time.

I like them alot and they cost about the same as the Rosso's. I've never ran Rosso's so I can't really compare the 2. But I will tell you that I feel great on my M3's. So far no slips. I feel very confident in the corners. They warm up quick. Right now I have about 3500 miles on them and still half the tread life left. So I'm pretty happy. I figure they will last me pretty much all summer.

Re: Tires

Yeah, the Dunlops are $380, the M3's are $400, the Rosso's are $430. (Including balancing/mounting)

Where can you get M3's put on for 400 OTD? I had my M3's put on at Signature cycles for 430 OTD. Then you got places like Zachos who wan't 500.

Re: Tires

That's just what they charge here. It's a Yamaha shop close to where I live, and that price even includes the special "tire recycling fee" I have to pay out here...but it doesn't include sales tax (9.25%) sad

If loud pipes save lives, imagine what learning to ride could do.
