Marshfield Speedway 1/2 Oval Race Aug. 8th

I have mentioned this event before but MadScout brought this up so I figured I would table for discussion again.  We need a total of 5 bikes to run for a specific sportbike class. So far it looks like myself, Scout and Scott R. are down if we can get some others to come out. The more the merrier and a better show.  Basically for $25 or $35 we would get to run under lights on a Saturday night and put on a show in front of a few hundred people and if you don't crash you basically get your money back.
Usually you want to get there around 3:30-4:00.  We would only get a few practice laps, 10 or 15 maybe.  Then later there are two heats which are 6 laps I think and an 8 lap feature race.  Its only a half mile so maybe 90-100 mph on the straight, 3rd gear the whole time.  What we are looking for is a "yep" I'm in so I can contact my guy to make sure they make room in the program for us,.. Below is the link to the rules.  Very basic.  Biggest thing is that you must run water. No exceptions.  Other than that, basically just track day trim.  Street tires will work just fine. We just figured we have a ton of tires with the right side roached, we might as well get the left side some action.  Again, this event is cheap, cheap, cheap and just for fun. Winner gets $60 and some Old Mil.

1/2 mile oval track. So it's like a glorified rollerskating rink?

Sounds like fun. smile

Re: Marshfield Speedway 1/2 Oval Race Aug. 8th

This looks like a fine time... to watch!

I think it's the close proximity of those concrete walls that keeps me from even considering this. Or it may be the fact that I'm a wuss.

I'd really like to stop over and see how it goes but my daughter's getting married that day and she may get angry if I don't show up. Don't think I haven't considered it though.

Have fun!!!
