xb12ss, 9man, Scout...

I'll try to cram the photos Nik took onto a cd for each of you. Will get them to you at the next club ride...should you appear.

How much did the whole weekend run? Including the leathers and classes?

Here's what it cost me.

Tracktime w/classroom = $225
Boots and Gloves = $447.90  Probably spent more than I needed but I'm quite fond of my hands and feet.
Tires = $300+  If you don't need them before, you'll probably need them after (your results may vary.)
Room = $20 We got a killer deal, one member slept in his truck outside the gate.
Fluids exchange = $50 (For the bike; practicecrasher didn't charge anything for the riders)
Gas bike/trip = $110

Not cheap but worth every penny and once you have the gear it will get less painful.  If you get the class out of the way or forgo it; a trackaddix day drops to $165 I think.  RA is going to be $185 but there's also a $35 membership fee.

I got by with my two piece suit but I plan on buying a one piece in the future.  Depending on what you get it'll run between $400 to $900.  Others may want to weigh in, but anything over that I think the law of diminishing returns kicks in, for a track day anyway.

I hope this post doesn't crash the server.

Re: BIR/Track Addix 6/16

I will have to agree with Manchu about the gear.  Once you have it, though, now you are good to go for track or street.

U also don't have to go out and buy the most expensive stuff out there.  Look for the deals online or at your favorite local cycle store.  Sometimes you can get lucky and find some nice stuff.  I got both my 1 and 2 piece leathers online.  2 piece was from New Enough as used - $500.  1 piece was used from private party on Ebay -$600.  It's nice to own both because I can just use the jacket from the 2 piece for street riding if I want.

Spending $200 to ride some of the great tracks in the US is chump change.  I did RA for my first one on my Gixxer1000.  Loved it!  This is going to be #3.  But to be able to say to kids and grandkids that you rode that track is so cool to do.

My 2 cents.

The amount of too damn much comes to mind. smile
$165 for trackday.
$150 for gas (truck and bike)
$40 for 2nights in condo
food, drink, hookers, etc.
tires if yours aren't good enough  (low end 260)
$20 at gate ???
Did I miss anything?

Worth every penny

Waking up in bed with Houdini Finger: Priceless, no?

Tire wear/fluid changes are a non-issue if you're Hind Titish. I bought Diablo stradas last fall, have maybe 3K on them so far...still plenty of miles to go on them post-track day, and I was no slouch. Didn't change out coolant because I refused to crash. Oil change beforehand, but it was time anyway.

Might spend $50 on duct tape, though. If you're artistic, there's nearly every color of the rainbow available.

The 20 bucks/night/person for lodging as previously mentioned helped to defray the cost of a $150/night condo on-site.

$75 to have a zipper installed on leather pants and leather jacket to make them 1-piece. Fastitch on Hastings.

Will post up in a week or so regarding possible deal on 1 piece suit. Buffalo leather, allegedly. With a hump. I find that ironical.

I didn't count these expenses because I have to pay for them wether I'm at the track or not.

Re: BIR/Track Addix 6/16

Yeah, so...I tried that whole "6th gear, 8K rpm" thing now that I don't have my speedo taped over?  97 mph. In turn 1. Maybe 100. On the dragstrip? Maybe just over 100. sad

What is this obsession with speed, smell the farm fresh air.. watch the birds... check out the horizon.  While doing this, watch your mirrors cuz someone is out wasting fossil fuels no matter what the cost is ........ stop daydreaming.... and quit touching yourself.

Nope, I think that's Oliva, might be Pretts, but the focus of the pic is in the far left.
