Thursday, 7/23

Riding in the morning and early afternoon.  I'll post up details on Wednesday after checking the Thursday forecast.

I'm in if it's actually nice. But for now it's looking like Wednesday is going to be the only nice day. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Re: Thursday, 7/23

I'd latch on to accuweather's forecast: sunny and 83. The weather on this forum is hardly correct. Ever.

Don't you have a new job or are you going to call in sick?

I use weather.com and I'm not sure why. They are wrong 99% of the time. They rarely get the next day forecast correct, much less 10 days out. What's the point I tell ya.

Yeah, the weather bar here uses weather.com, because it was easy to access for use off their site. If you don't like it, just turn it off in your profile settings!

Re: Thursday, 7/23

Oh no I didn't mean that I don't like seeing it on this site. I'm just saying in general I go to weather.com to check the weather all the time. Not on this site. And it's just rediculous how consistantly wrong they are.

just ask me, ive had two semesters of metorology, aviation weather websites are really accurate, but the forecasts are always questionable.

Re: Thursday, 7/23

New shifter lever and new cover on the motor...that round thingy. Lesson learned? Replacing the cover sort of takes four hands when you're all fired up to replace quickly. I'm ready for tomorrow. My weather rock is dry and bright...

Yah, that thing. Hi again Matt, btw. If I had realized a little earlier it was you, I would given you the Cunjabba wave (think high, vigorous, Goldwing rider-like). That's fun across six lanes. smile

Re: Thursday, 7/23

Meeting at the Holiday Station on the corner of Golf Rd. and Hwy 93 around 9.  Kickstands up at 9:30.

Anyone reading this is welcome to join in the fun.  The only stipulation is you must have proper riding gear (lid, jacket, gloves, jeans, boots).

That is all.

And if I would have saw you right away..........I would have taken a left turn with my upper body perfectly straight up and down with perfect posture so I would have looked like Eric Estrada from CHIPS taking a turn.........WHILE giving you the Goldwing wave.

Re: Thursday, 7/23

Well since I crashed on this ride.........things will liven up.

And I also wanted to give a huge thank's to ALL of you who helped me look over my bike and take off all the loose peices. And for going out of your way to lead me home. It is very much appreciated guys, and gal. smile (Hindtit, snowman,crash06,champ) Big thank's to all of you.

My apologies again for the accident and I hope the rest of you enjoyed the rest of the day riding.

Basically from what I remember............I was coming in to the corner a little too fast. I have never been on that road and wasn't expecting that much of a curve. I wen't hard on the front brakes before I hit the corner and then wen't lightly on the rear brake. So I thought it was light and my rear end locked up. I let off the brake and tried leaning into it but with no luck. It was completely my fault for pushing my limits on a road I wasn't familiar with and for being a dummy and using my rear brake. After it happened I felt like a complete noob. It's funny the things you do when you panic.........and instead of doing what you SHOULD be doing........you tend to just do everything in your power to STOP.

I came out perfectly fine. Leathers did their job very well.

Pictures to come soon.
