Titanium clutch?

So, I've got the Zook in for it's 45,000 mile valve adjust and clutch/clutch cable replacement.  The mechanic, a good one, called saying the adjust is done; no problems there.

Regarding the clutch, he said there was a broken spring on the bottom of the clutch cable somewhere.  He replaced the spring, lubed the cable and inspected the clutch plates.  He said they didn't show any signs of wear.

I told him that I bought the bike new and the clutch has never been replaced.  Although the actual milage is a bit of a mystery, it's roughly 45,000.  He confirmed that it looked good.

I don't think I've ever clutched up a whoolie, intentionally, and am not a big clutch slipper on the launch.  I also religiously changed the oil with full-synth. every 2,000 miles when the odometer worked.  Now, I change it twice a year since I put way fewer miles on it since buying the Ape.  Still, I'm amazed.

It just goes to show you that proper maintenance trumps tree-impacts all-day-long!
