WSBK at Miller and track day

I'm planning a trip to Utah to watch the WSBK races and then do a track day on 6/1.  The track day is expensive at $259, but you only live once, right?  I'll be leaving after work on Thursday, 5/27 and will be back by 6/3 at the earliest.

Other than Prissel, who would love to go but won't, smile, is anyone else interested in doing this?  Post up or PM if you are.

Riding all the way there or trailer?

Truck or truck and trailer depending on the number of people who end up going.  The GSXR saw public roads for the last time yesterday.  I'm in the process of the conversion.

Re: WSBK at Miller and track day

I might consider going to this... 11 hour drive on freeways on the motorcycle though...across friggin Nevada. God.

If I did back roads who knows how long it'd take.

$35 for gas each way total though, where a flight is almost $300 for some reason.

I might have to see if anyone owns a car and is interested in going.

OR you could drive the extra 11 hours and come out here and visit ;P

I might just do it, because I'm insane:

Re: WSBK at Miller and track day

Michelle thinks I should do it. Solo on my bike across 700 miles of Nevada...that'll be an adventure. Thank god I have a tank bag and a net for the passenger seat...maybe I should carry some extra fuel.

When you get plans on where you're staying hotel wise, let me know. Try to make it close to a bar, although I know it's friggin UTAH.

Hmmm, I'd love to, junior, but that'd add several hundred miles to the trip.  Get your arse to the EC and we'll make room for you.

Meh. Be your own persons. Or bring your wives.

Re: WSBK at Miller and track day

Still trying to decide my mode of travel...

- Ride motorcycle 1600 miles round trip (~$80 travel cost/10 hours+ each way)
- Take Amtrak there/Fly back ($160 travel cost/16 hours there/1.5 hours back)
- Fly both ways ($180 travel cost/1.5 hours each way)

Let me know as soon as you guys find what hotel you're staying at and book rooms and all that so I know what dates you'll be there. Plus if they have cots or a room with a sofa so I don't need to get my own room, that'd be stellar.
