Wanted to let you all know that I upheld the honor of the club and ventured out for the last "official" ride today.
Had a nice route plotted out too! Hwy. C all the way to Elmwood, north to Boyceville and Connorsville, back east to Ridegland and Colfax and down into EC.
Started out just a liitle cold, but no rain. Unfortunately, that ended just as I was leaving Downsville and it only got worse as I headed over to Elmwood on C. Got to the junction of C and Hwy 72 and the combination of increasing rain, constantly fogged visor and brand new back tire (0 miles at start of ride) convinced me to call it a day. It even felt like small hail falling at one point! Not exactly confindence inspiring in the corners.
Headed home via Hwy. 72 and retraced C back into EC. I'm sure the folks I passed in their nice warm cars were wondering what kind of fool was out riding on a day like this. At this point I was wondering the same thing.
One thing I did find out today was the 2 corners leading down into Downsville (while not as tight and challenging as before) were still a blast at higher speed. Sorta like the 2 corners by the bean farm closer into EC, but a little tighter. Might be worth a slight detour if we get over that way next year. Still have to hit Y though. That's still the best stretch of road over that way!
So, if you wanted proof of my riding devotion (translation: stupidity), this should do.

Paul, I think the last ride of the year is now your calling card. Wasn't it last year or the year before we ventured out on the last ride in the same weather? Anyway, way to represent.

After getting a great ride in yesterday i didnt think i needed to clean the leathers today... if i knew you would still go paul... i would have considered it though. Kind of got the chills reading your post. Dedicated to the sport you are.
Is it still called porn if she is in love with the horse ?

Ditto. Although if I didn't have obligations on Sunday I may have showed up. The year still holds good riding weather yet, I hope. I am not ready to be done.
Just over 3000 miles on the Gixxer in the past month since I bought it. 1200 of them last weekend!

Sounds good to me. Just give me a day or so advance warning and I'll be there!
