Ideas??

I was thinking it might be a good idea to have a thread specifically for brainstorming what kind of club events we want next year.  With a fresh coat of white shit on the ground this may not seem to be a good time for this, but if we start looking into things now we may be able to do some really cool stuff next year.

There's been discussion of events such as a 1) kick-off-the-riding-season party, 2) moving Laguna Seca earlier in the year, 3) track days, 4) drag strip day and 5) a stunt show.

Chime in on what on this list you'd be interested in and add anything you'd like to see the club get involved in.

Leon Winfrey of PTT talked about sending someone up for a 1 day event awhile back. I don't know what happened with that but I always thought it was a great idea. I bet Rand McNally up in Cameron could host something similar at this point.

Great idea Madscout and Turd.  I'd trust Rand to measure my sag anytime.

Re: Ideas??

I had thought about a Spring round up Sag party and also a Mount up new rubber day combined into one. Get your tires bring them up in a chase car and we can all learn to mount and balance tires and set up our bikes the best we know how.  Keep me posted if this is something everyone would be interested in?

Sounds Great but why Capitolize Spring, Sag and Mount? I'm trying to find the hidden meaning here.

Sounds good but I erased all that gay porn you had me hide, except for Fisting Firemen Five which I grew attached to. You can't have that one back.

I like your style!  As far as the stunt show it might be possible to get some guys from the cities that we know to come down for the weekend...

Congrats or condolances to the new officers. If nothing else, it should be very entertaining! I like the season start party/ride. It would be a good time for people to pay dues. Or at least have a early meet, just to get everyone reaquainted.

Re: Ideas??

i had a thought.  maybe as a club we could adopt a sweet section of highway.  a road that we could go out and sweep, pick up trash(sucky part) and ensure gravel-freeness(grammar check).  anyways it could help a little by getting the club name out.  say for instance some guy(s) or gal(s) are riding on some section of where ever and they see the sign, they would be like damn i should join that club.  all hypothetical obviously.  anyways, i will crawl back in my hole.

I think that's a great idea.  In fact, I had been giving that some serious thought in the recent past.  But we can't even get anyone to show up for the frickin' meetings...It'd end up being you and me and a bag o' trash.  And a six pack.

Re: Ideas??

Bravo Madman.  Regardless of any benefit the club may realize, this would be a very good thing to do.  The application is very simple and the rules are minimal.  As for the exact section of road we would be responsible for, the application asks for three alternatives.  I'm not sure if they'd allow us somewhere in the "twisties", but God knows there are plenty of straightaways bracketing said "twisties".  Check out the website, if you wish, at http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/localgov/a … ighway.htm.

I think we should do this.  Gauging interest or participation may be difficult, but I can think of a number of us good folks who would do this.  Rather than a poll, why don't you just respond to this post if you'd be interested or if you can think of any good reason the club should NOT be involved in this.

Re: Ideas??

While I was poking around in there...

http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/safety/veh … croads.htm

Not really so much for the patch, but for some ideas for more rides next year.  Keep your eyes peeled though.  Some of these roads are in BAD shape.

Also, I haven't explored it yet, but I just became a member of AAA to get a discount on their insurance and it's rumored there's trip planner stuff etc.  Will report back on it soon.

I'm interested for sure, as it may end up being a start from scratch day for the woodman.
