Where and when?

The poll shows there is indeed interest in doing a track day on a Monday.  The next step is to determine which track and which date to do.

If you are seriously considering doing a track day with the club this year, please respond to this thread with which event you would prefer.  Name your top two choices.  All of these dates are Mondays.

1)  Road America, June 9th, $230
2)  BIR, June 16th, $165
3)  Autobahn, June 23rd, $220
4)  BHF, June 23rd, $170
5)  BHF, June 30th, $180
6)  Road America, July 7th, $220
7)  BIR, July 7th, $165
8)  BHF, August 11th, $170
9)  BIR,  August 25th, $165

There is also a Road America day July 4th with Learning curves but I have not had enough time to check it out.  I think it is $200.

I can make any or all work for me... would prefer some over others... whatever the membership decides is good by me.

Works for me too! Although I'd go for RA over BIR if I had to choose.

Re: Where and when?

We're about two months out from the first track day option.  As of now, it looks like June 16th at BIR is winning.  I guess this is the last call for voting.  If you haven't voted and want to go, please vote.  If you already voted and have changed your mind, let us know.

Again, we need to confirm which event we'll be attending to allow people to free their schedules.

Re: Where and when?

Info on lodging at BIR.  Click on the "lodging" link on the ofet of the home page.  Then select Condos.  Pretty sweet place.  Sleeps 10.  2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, 2 HUGE L-shaped couches, lots of room for air-mattress'.  Ask Champ, he stayed in one last year.

I tried like hell to get the SV in the Monte, but just couldget the rear tire all the way in.(  so i'll require a spot on a trailer too.

Re: Where and when?

Well, it looks like BIR on 6/16 it is.  You can register at TRACK ADDIX.  Technically, Track Addix requires that you have previous track experience or you have to sign up for their Track Orientation School.  It's a bit more expensive, but you get some classroom training to help you get comfortable quickly.  You will have as much track time as anyone else.  Again, a little more money, but worth it if you're a first-timer or even if you want a few pointers.

It appears that the next hurdle will be trailer space.  If you're going and have room on a trailer for an extra bike, let us know.  If you need to get your bike on a trailer, let us know that as well so we can do our best to find a place for you.  Ultimately, getting your bike to and from the track is your responsibility, but we'll do what we can to make sure everyone who wants to go does go.

Another feature Track Addix offers is their Try the Track program.  It's $50 and all of the information can be found here.

Any questions?  Fire away.
