Laguna Seca Input

We're in the beginning stages of planning the Laguna Seca ride for this year and we're looking for some input from the masses.

Last year was a departure from the normal routine for the LS ride.  For those of you who didn't attend, we ended our ride in Osseo at the Crossroads bar owned by Cormonster from this forum.  The food was unbelievable, the prizes were amazing, and the booze was definitely flowing.  The cool part was that attached to the bar is a hotel with super cheap rates so people didn't have to go anywhere.  I think everyone had fun even though it was 50 and raining.  The only downfall of this set-up is that the bar is not in Eau Claire.

After searching for a similar layout in Eau Claire, I'm not finding the accomodations we need.  They exist, but the cost is just too much for our club to handle.

Please choose an option from above and, if you choose other, please either post what you'd like or send me a PM.

Thanks in advance for your help.

First place I called.  The big room requires we use their catering.....too spendy.  The little room wouldn't hold us.  Good idea though.  Keep them coming.

Re: Laguna Seca Input

since I'm probably not doing the track day, I voted for drinking heavily in Osseo.

Whatever Wood wants, Wood gets.

Seriously though, I just got off the phone with Cory from Crossroads in Osseo.  He's got us on the calendar for Saturday, the 9th of August.  Put it on your calendars as well and make sure to be there.

Last year was a blast, despite the crappy 50 degree high temperature and rain.

Plans are incomplete at this time, but here's what we have in mind.

For food you can expect a pig roast (done by our very own Badfish) along with other delicious side dishes.

We're working on getting a band.  Post up the name of your favorite local band and we'll do our best make sure the entertainment rocks.

The booze will be flowing. With that in mind, the Osseo Inn is attached to the bar.  Nothing fancy, but sooooooo convenient and at roughly $60 for a night, a lot cheaper than the possible consequences of risking riding the bike home buzzed.  The hotel's # is 715-597-3175 if you want to get ahead of the game.  At this point you will receive regular pricing, but we'll get a discount once we commit to a certain number of rooms.

And, of course, the prizes.  You can expect tons of prizes again this year.

That's all for now, but remember, if there's a band you'd like to see, let us know who and we'll see what we can do.

Re: Laguna Seca Input

Would you guys do me a favor and check out the couple of songs on this site? I want to get a few opinions as far as if this kind of band would work for the Par-Tay. I don't know if they do any covers...I could approach them if I thought we as a group were serious in hiring them...but I don't want to get lynched if they're not the club's idea of "The Shit".

Let me know what you ALL think....not just Prissel. tongue

Re: Laguna Seca Input

I thought of a couple of other bands that we could check out. One is D-Boys. I know they are B-95's house band, but they play a great varity and really get a the crowd going. They have quite a following and fill up the places I have seen them in. Another one is Pheonix. They are more rock and they are 92.1's house band. They have  a good following also. I don't think a DJ would be the worst thing, especially if you got one like Rock-N-Roll To Go Plus. I sure they would be able to satisfy Mx's desire for the Chicken Dance!:rave:
