Dual Compund tires

Hello All,
I'm curious as to what kind of miles you HARD riders are getting out of the dual compound tires. If I'm getting 2300 - 2700 out of my single compound ties (Bridgestone BT010, BT012 & BT014), what can I expect from the dual compounds?

What bike are they on?

But I've just learned that "dual compound" generally means that the center portion of the tread stays the same level of stiffness but that the cornering portion is even softer than before. (I was mistaken, I thought it meant it gave you a "super-stiff" center portion of tread for slabbing distance miles)

Does anyone run BT21's or Pilot Sport instead of Pilot Powers and do you feel comfortable with the sticking power? I ride as hard as most of you do on the county roads from what I can tell and I'm tired of only getting 2300 - 2800 miles per rear tire.  sad

Diablo Strada or Pilot Road would be fine.  You're only really giving up about 5% traction over stock street tires.  On the street if you are riding so hard that the sport-touring tires don't stick good enough then maybe you should goto the track more often like some of us do!  big_smile  Really the Strada or the Road should be plenty of tire for the street.  I'm thinking about running Strada's all the time on the street, just for a little better mileage.  One more thing, I don't know anyone with a 1000cc bike that gets more than about 3-3500 miles on a rear.  I do personally get more miles than most people because I corner as much as I ride in a straight line.  I'll get almost 5000+ on my rears on my Daytona 675.

+1 on the Roads... I'm putting my second set on tomorrow and I've gotten about 5500 miles on them.
