Just for laughs.

My buddy and I were out screwing around on Saturday and he had the bright idea of having me video tape some wheelies for him. So we found a private road and got all set up and he wanted to use my bike first. So I figured what the hell I got full coverage and he's pretty new to riding but he's a decent rider. Well the rest you'll have to see for yourself. The video's 4 minutes long but the good part is right at the beginning.

Sorry about the shaky camera work I was taking the video with my kodak easy share camera so give me a break. smile

Re: Just for laughs.

Yeah a little. I really thought he was going to go down and I knew that he's was goin about 80+ so I figured it was going to be pretty ugly.

Oh by the way we paced it off and there was a little over 300 ft of skid mark. lol

Re: Just for laughs.

You could hear the rear tire bouncing as he banged it into first and had entirely too much engine brake when combined with a lack of weight on the rear tire.  I loved that he said he wasn't on the brakes.  I loved it more that you called B.S. immediately.

Re: Just for laughs.

Yeah I think he had a little target fixation going on and he didn't even realize how hard he grabbed the front brake.

I don't know why other then maybe my suspension is way off but if you grab a handful of front the front wheel locks and skips. It's a very bad feeling when it happens too. :barf:

After we turned off the camera he started arguing with me about the fact that plan and simple he panicked so I took the bike up to red line in first to simulate the wheelie and I started to brake where the skid marks started I was able to stop the bike before the corner (barely) and then he started to admit that when he came down he instantly thought that he was out of room to stop and he panicked a little.

But all in all I think since no one got hurt it was a good learning experience. lol

Re: Just for laughs.

The suspension must be too soft up front.  You're probably bottoming out.

Re: Just for laughs.

You'll show up? Good! Then I get to punch you in the arm for loaning your bike. If I remember right, you can scrape your ride up all by yourself. tongue

Re: Just for laughs.

Of course I'll show up. I mean come on I'm bringing the lube and the luber. lol

And what do you mean I can scratch it up myself. hmm I've yet to put this bike down and to tell you the truth I'd rather someone else crash it for me. smile

Me and him trade bikes all the time sometimes for a week or so. We both have 500 deductible so if we crash it that's what it is. It's also kinda fun swapping bikes gives me a chance to ride something different especially in this case going from the litre 4 to the litre twin is just an amazingly different type of power. Of course mine has way more power. big_smile
